Tru Niagen® is a food supplement containing Niagen® (nicotinamide riboside, NR), a special form of vitamin B3. Nicotinamide riboside is a precursor of NAD+, a coenzyme found in every cell of the body. The ingredient is patented and authorised as a novel food in the EU and in Switzerland.

NAD+ stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. It is a coenzyme found in every living cell and is involved in many metabolic reactions, especially energy production in the mitochondria, the “power plants” of the cells. The body makes NAD+ from, among other things, vitamin B3 precursors such as nicotinamide riboside.

The active ingredient of Tru Niagen® is Niagen® (nicotinamide riboside), a special form of vitamin B3 that the body uses to make NAD+. Vitamin B3 contributes to:

• normal energy-yielding metabolism
• normal functioning of the nervous system
• normal psychological function
• the maintenance of normal mucous membranes
• the maintenance of normal skin
• the reduction of tiredness and fatigue

Switzerland and Liechtenstein accepts all the novel food approved by the European Union. There the approval applies as well to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

We recommend taking one capsule (300 mg) of Tru Niagen® a day, ideally at the same time each day. You can take it in the morning or evening, with or without food. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Tru Niagen® is a food supplement, not a medicine. Whether and when you notice something varies from person to person. We recommend taking Tru Niagen® every day, regularly, for at least two to three months.

Both contain 300 mg of Niagen® per daily serving. The capsules come in packs of 30 and 90. The stick packs contain a flavourless powder with inulin that you can stir into a drink or yoghurt – handy on the go and for anyone who prefers not to swallow capsules. Tru Niagen® Immune combines 150 mg of Niagen® with vitamins and minerals.

In published, placebo-controlled clinical studies, no adverse effects attributable to Niagen® were found when taken as directed. If you do notice any discomfort, stop taking it and consult your doctor.

Niagen® has been examined in several published, placebo-controlled clinical studies in humans. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has assessed its safety, and nicotinamide riboside is authorised as a novel food in the EU and in Switzerland. Please keep to the recommended daily dose.

Yes. Tru Niagen® capsules are vegetarian (hypromellose capsule shell) and, according to the manufacturer, formulated without gluten and without major allergens. They contain no caffeine and no artificial colours or flavours. There are no particular dietary restrictions.

There is no scientific evidence that you need to avoid alcohol while taking Tru Niagen®.

Tru Niagen® can be taken together with a standard multivitamin, even one that contains vitamin B3. Follow the directions on the labels. If you take any medication, please discuss it with your doctor or pharmacist.

No. Tru Niagen® is intended for adults aged 18 and over, as there is not enough research in children. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should ask their doctor before taking it.

Niagen® is one of the most thoroughly studied NAD+ precursors. It has been examined in more than 20 published, peer-reviewed clinical studies in humans.

Based on the studies published so far, there is no indication that Tru Niagen® impairs the body’s own production of NAD+.

Store Tru Niagen® in a cool, dry place. Brief exposure to high temperatures (up to about 54 °C), as can occur during shipping, does not affect quality or safety. For long-term storage or if you live somewhere with constantly high temperatures, we recommend the refrigerator.
