The TRU NIAGEN® Story
Scientists have known about the vital role of NAD for more than a century. They knew it was an essential coenzyme found in every living cell, and that our cells need NAD+ for our cells to thrive.
In 2004, Dr. Charles Brenner’s landmark study revealed that nicotinamide riboside could generate NAD+. Dr. Charles Brenner is a member of the highly endowed scientific advisory board of Chromadex, the manufacturer of TRU NIAGEN®.
Although nicotinamide riboside (NR) is found in nature, it is virtually impossible to extract in large enough quantities for research or supplementation. Chromadex realized that if they wanted to uncover the immense potential of NAD+, they needed to find a way to make more NR.
So they did.
By 2013, Chromadex successfully created NIAGEN®, a nature-identical form of NR. They licensed the patents, supported the science, manufactured NIAGEN®, tested it, and ran studies to verify its safety and efficacy. And now with TRU NIAGEN®, We are bringing this special molecule directly to you, so everyone can experience the benefits of NAD+.
